LO4: Evidence Of Editing

Image
Evidence of editing: Evidence 1: This sequence was made by Isaac Parker, it done by manipulating images and gifs in a fast editing style to create an alternate reality. The lip gif seen throughout is to represent the girl he is singing about in his song. These gifs were free to use, I then edited the colours and exposure of them to fit the purple hazed colour scheme. This was done as a separate file and then dragged over since the cutting and effects were very confusing to edit together. I also used images I took of the artist.  This was implemented into the video since XAK forgot his lyrics in the footage. Evidence 2: This Line drawing effect was done in After effects. This was produced by Tom Frow.  This clip was very time consuming along with the other line drawing clips.  In total it took 670 strokes done frame by frame to create this moving animation. To make this a quicker process I think we could have used a  drawing tab...

LO3: Setting up production materials

Image
Setting up production materials This is us setting up the equipment we used e.i. the shoulder mount was used to help stabilise clips as this was a lot easier to film with than a hand held camera. also using the tripod allowed us to catch stable b- roll and establishing shots. In the video we used a 4k camera and a cannon 70D this was so we could get high quality footage to make sure our video looked professional and so did the artist. we also used soft boxes in the indoor clips because this allowed us to have a nice soft light in the room so the footage was less grainy. also we have a photo of the runner and a person part of the filming crew on the way to a different location, all of our locations where in walking distance and this is how we got there.

LO3: Planning Matching Production

Image
Planning Matching Production: Storyboard 1 Shot 1 This VHS effect ran through the whole video, this was used to cut up clips and to keep a running theme throughout. It was also used to switch between modern and old tecnology where one clip would be in HD the other would be grainy making the music video have more of a variety. Shot 2 This then Cut into our first establishing shot. this is used to set the scene for the video. We used natural light to create high contrast so the artist stood out since this was an establishing shot. Storyboard 2 Shot 3 This shot was where XAK is in in studio dancing and singing along to his song and the camera tracks towards him. This scene repeated throughout the video with different effects.  Shot 4   This shot was a medium close up of XAK singing and dancing in his studio this clip was changed with lots of different accts such as... Line Drawing This effected was used quite a lot thr...

LO3: Following Codes & Conventions

Image
Codes and Conventions To follow hip hop video conventions we used common angles and effects we studied in pre-production. Effects included: Ghost effect, Line tracking, Vortex transition, fast cuts, Adapted giphs. ect. Following common codes and conventions will attract my target audience and promote the artist in the desired way. We used shot types such as: Medium close ups, Full shots, Close ups. Common angles we saw in other Hip-hop videos were used like: Dutch angle and Low angle.  Example 1 To show the audience that the artist is XAK from the start, we introduced him through B-roll and close ups. This establishing shot starts the video off slow to match the slow instrumental at the start. The clip was slow down to mimic the classic style. An example of this is the 88Glam - Bali video. Prior to the clip we showed the graphics to showcase the artist and the song name. Example 2 The video did not have a narrative however other hip-hop videos alike have ...
